I’m not gonna lie. I have been OBSESSED with Barrister Winery since the day I heard about it. So when I started planning my very first inspiration shoot in Spokane I knew there was only one place it could be. Barrister is Spokane’s wedding gem. And I don’t say that lightly. Tucked right in the middle of downtown Spokane, it boasts all the things that make a city venue great. Hard wood floors, wood beams, brick walls, local art, character features and… get ready…parking! My prediction? This will be THE place to get married this year. If you are looking for a city venue with enough character to make your wedding unique, but one that offers a blank canvas to leave your mark, Barrister is the one and only.
After I decided the venue, the choice of photographer was easy. Matt Shumate‘s Barrister Winery wedding featured on Apple Brides a couple months ago is one of my all time fav Spokane weddings, so not only did I already know Matt was a fabulous photographer, I also knew he knew the ins and outs of Barrister. Decision made! And from there the decisions didn’t get any harder, I compiled a whole cast of vendors who went above and beyond my expectations to make this shoot a wild success. And then last but certainly not least, I pulled in the help of our beautiful “bride” and “groom” Erica and Tyler. It wasn’t just their rugged good looks that made Erica and Tyler perfect for the job, but also because they are getting married at Barrister this August and Tyler works at the winery!
Even though Barrister has a rustic feel, it also has a New York City loft vibe. So we wanted to keep the shoot modern and urban with bright color and architectural details. There are way too many awesome shots for one post so I will be dividing it into two. So stay tuned!
