Ryan Lindberg: Spokane Wedding Photographer

I’m so happy to announce that Ryan Lindberg Photography is joining the Apple Bride’s Preferred Vendors list! Ryan is a Spokane based wedding photographer who specializes in natural and relaxed photography. With six years experience and 200 weddings under his belt, the man knows his way around a camera…and a wedding. And the photos? Well, they speak for themselves!

I asked Ryan a couple questions to help us all get to know him a bit better…

Where are you based and will you travel?

I’m based out of Spokane and love the area. I have full custody of my 7-year-old daughter so I really like to stay close to home for her. I will go anyplace that I can travel to and get back to Spokane in the same day like Tri Cities, Moses Lake, Sandpoint and the Colville area.

What made you decide to go into wedding photography?

I was a freelance graphic designer for about 10 years and about seven years ago one of my clients wanted to trade his design work with a $3000 credit to an electronics store. I decided to get a really nice video camera with the credit. A few weeks later after receiving the video camera it was sitting next to me on my desk and I thought to myself, what can I use this for? Around the same time my neighbors daughter was getting married and I offered to capture it just for fun. Neither of us expected much, but it actually turned out really good! After the first wedding I was hooked and shot wedding videos for another year. I was working with photographers who seemed to be having so much fun, so I decided to get my first camera and try it out. About 6 months later I stopped the video and graphic design part of my business to do photography full time.

What describes your photographic style?

Natural and real. I like to capture couples being themselves. I won’t spend 10 minutes setting up a posed stiff shot. I focus on how couples react to each other, how they look at each other and the emotion that comes from real passion. I find that letting them be more natural loosens them up and they have more fun being in front of the camera.

What is your favorite part of a wedding?

I like everything from the first meeting to the delivery of the final product. I think that the two most important times in ones life is getting married and having children. I feel very blessed to be asked to be a part of one of those times.

What is one piece of advice you would give to brides and grooms?

My best advice to couples is to hire professionals with experience. After 6+ years and over 200 weddings later, I can’t stress enough how important it is. I know aunts, uncles and friends love to be involved and help out but they should be enjoying your special day with you and your family. And if a problem arises on the wedding day someone with experience can handle it and make the day go super smooth so you can enjoy it!
