Go to the most beautiful part of downtown Spokane, find the oldest, most stately building and you will most definitely be at the Spokane Masonic Temple. The building is an integral part of Spokane’s cityscape, so you’ve probably seen it a thousand times before…but maybe not through the eyes of a bride, which is why I felt it was my duty as your local wedding blogger to go and check the place out myself. So with my bridal eyes in tow, I went and met with the Event Director, Sonja Duffy who was kind enough to show me around all 117,000 square feet (no, there is not an extra 0 in that figure it is just THAT big) of the beautiful building.
Are you planning a 1920′s soiree for your wedding? Or one with a Mad Men 1950′s retro vibe? What about a grand city affair with classic elegance? The Spokane Masonic Temple is an absolute dream for the vintage inspired wedding! It was built in 1903 and has been thoughtfully preserved to keep that old world character and charm. You simply can’t beat original features, and the Temple is FULL of them!
But with over 5 event rooms to choose from, no matter what your taste, you are bound to find something that strikes your fancy. There’s an old style theater complete with black and white checkered floors; there’s a grand ballroom with chandeliers, wood floors and a neutral palette; then there’s The Falls Room which has a loft feel and a private balcony with views of the River, and that doesn’t even count the ceremony options!
There are several wedding venues in Spokane that will give you options when it comes to capacity and catering, but I would venture to say none can do it with such grace and style as the Spokane Masonic Temple. Flexibility takes on a whole new meaning! Whether you want a intimate wedding of 30 or a huge wedding and ceremony of 400, there is an option for you…a really beautiful option. And with over five caterers to choose from, you hold the reigns when it comes to your food costs. The wedding packages are inclusive, affordable and flexible, which makes the Masonic Temple a viable option not matter what your budget!
The other thing I think makes the Masonic Temple unique is that the Sonja, the Event Director is also a florist and includes individualized centerpieces in the packages, another great cost cutter!
After touring the facility, chatting with Sonja and seeing the many options for Spokane brides, I really feel The Masonic Temple is one of our areas most beautiful wedding establishments, which is why I am delighted to be adding them to my Preferred Vendors list!
And finally, a little wedding advice from the wonderful Sonja:
“Breath, have fun and remember that no matter what happens on that day, it will end by being married to your best friend!”

As a wedding DJ I am always excited to get to perform for brides at the Spokane Masonic Center. Not only are the rooms stunning, but Sonja is an absolute pleasure to work with.
