You asked and I listened! Some of the girls on the Apple Bride’s forums have requested that I start doing venue features where I go to the actual premises, take a tour, interview the wedding coordinator and have pictures that show what the facilities look like. I am very passionate about the fact that I want Apple Brides to be THE resource you use for planing your Spokane/Coeur d’ Alene wedding, so I thought this was a wonderful idea! So for the second day of Venue Week, I am doing a venue tour!
I’d heard a lot about Coeur d’ Alene Event venue, The White House. I’d heard it was beautiful. I’d heard it offered wonderful service and I’d heard is was rivaling some of the top wedding venues in Coeur d’ Alene, and above all it comes HIGHLY recommended by some of my loyal readers (check out their review here) so after I convinced my sisters to come along (for companionship, because I love them and for the use of their expensive camera…) we made our way to The White House to meet with event coordinator Shawny.
My number one complaint when it comes to wedding venues is that they impose a specific style, theme or taste onto the wedding; usually through ridiculous carpet, outrageous wall color or theme specific facades. The White House is NOT one of these venues. Whoever was responsible for the decor and the styling of the White House was smart. Very smart. The colors are neutral, it has wood floors and there isn’t a single obnoxious carpet color in the whole place! And even though it’s a blank canvas the top quality finishings including crown molding and wainscoting give the entire place a luxurious and upscale vibe.
And as far as location, The White House is hard to beat. Located in the heart of adorable downtown Coeur d’ Alene the venue boasts easy access to some of the area’s hot spots AND parking!
The White House just re-opened for weddings after being closed for a couple years, and even though they have introduced some updates to the service they provide, they haven’t raised their prices from a couple years ago! They work exclusively with Mangia Catering Company, who offer flexible packages to suit a variety of budgets.
In conclusion, I think The White House lives up to it’s reputation and is a very welcome addition to the wedding venue landscape in our area. So whether you’re a Northern Idaho bride or a Spokane area bride, it’s worth checking out!
