I love it when I get a submission from one of my Preferred Vendors, because it means I get the chance to show you why they are on the exclusive Preferred Vendor list. Case in point, Collin and Kayla’s engagement session by Tri-Cities based, Photography by Lee Ann. Lee Ann is a wonderful photographer specializing in photojournalism style photography. And not only are her photos amazing, but she also doesn’t charge travel fees for coming to the Spokane area! Which is pretty unheard of! To give us a little more info on Lee Ann and her fabulous work, I sent her a couple questions…
How many years have you been shooting weddings?
I have been shooting weddings since 2007! WOW! That’s gone by so fast!
Why did you decide to get into wedding photography?
At first, I didn’t want to do it. I actually said no, no, no, no. But my friend and fellow photographer asked me to second shoot her brother’s wedding. I did it, and fell in love. It was such an exciting day, and I loved capturing the sweet moments and watching the whole day come together. It was such an adrenaline rush, I was hooked.

What is your biggest piece of advice for engaged couples?
Take time to enjoy the whole process. Sometimes couples are so worried about everything that they forget to enjoy it all, and to enjoy each other. No matter what happens your wedding day will be wonderful and you will be married to the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, which matters more than anything else.

What’s your photography style?
I try to take a photojournalism approach to capture the real moments, and keep it very relaxed. I am very low key.

What’s your favorite part of a wedding?
I absolutely love the first time the bride and groom see each other. I love it when my couples do first looks, so we can really have that quiet intimate moment and capture it forever. I also love the moment after the wedding when they are alone. I guess I like the moments that are real and sacred to them.

What’s your piece of advice for booking a wedding photographer?
I suggest sitting down and getting to know your photographer. Go grab a big bowl of ice cream and just talk. Talk about your wedding but also get to know them. You want someone that you can relate to, and that will work well with your personality. I love when I get to sit down with brides and leave feeling like I made a new rockin’ friend. Also make sure you get to see a full wedding from them, everyone puts what they love online but you want to see what a real wedding looks like, start to finish.

Where are you based and will your travel? How much are your travel fees?
I am based out of Tri-Cities, Washington. I would love to travel!! For weddings within a two hour radius there are no travel fees. For farther it is a per case cost basis. But I’ll come to Spokane without any travel fees.

I love the way all the details are so clear and sharp on these pictures, yet all you notice is the couple. The variety of settings is great, and the feeling between the couple really comes through. She does great positioning!
Amazing pictures. I like the last photo. She’s very lovely and her smile is just great.
