Guest Post! Wedding at the Davenport by Mastin Studio

It’s a very special day on Apple Brides today! Not only are we featuring one of Spokane’s most GORGEOUS weddings of the year, but we are partnering up with the lovely Dana from one of my favorite blogs, Spokane Bride Blog, to do a joint/guest post! Here’s the scoop.

We are featuring the first part of Sara and Jake’s elegant Davenport Hotel extravaganza by Mastin Studio and Spokane Bride Blog is featuring the second half…AND Dana did us the honor of writing the introduction over here on A.B. and I wrote the intro over on her post! ‘Tis the season for sharing!

“If I had to pick a handful of my favorite weddings from this year Sara & Jake’s would definitely make the top 5!  There’s just nothing about this wedding that I don’t absolutely adore.  Timelessness stands out more than anything and our bride, Sara, has some serious style… the kind classic style that made Jackie Kennedy such an icon.  She is the epitome of elegance and so striking with her gorgeous red bouquet & lips!  Sara & Jake’s photographs by Mastin Studios will be just as classic today as they will be 50 years from now.  With the rock-solid team of local vendors they chose, there’s no way they could’ve gone wrong.  Yes, folks!  A chic, stylish downtown wedding is entirely achievable in Spokane.” Dana

…and there is plenty more where these came from!

Here is a little more from bride, Sara, about her big day!

“Jake and I were not able to have our grandparents there due to health and long distance. Right before we got married, Jake’s grandmother offered him his grandfather’s wedding band. This is the ring that he wears, which holds great meaning because his grandparents had a very strong marriage over many years. Also, weeks before the wedding, I uncovered a broach that my late grandmother left for me, and included it with me on my bouquet. It was so special to include these family traditions so we could honor the members of our families that couldn’t be there.

Jake (Jake Douville Graphic Design) created a seating chart diagram of the Grand Pennington Ballroom with the dance floor titled “Saturday Night Fever” and each of the tables labeled with the title of a classic love movie. We thought this was a fun and memorable way for people to find their table. Each of the tables had a mini-movie poster on it so guests could find their seat.

Jake and I are both from Spokane and we love it here. It will always be home for us. It was important that we used as many local venues and products as possible in our planning. The one exception, I believe, was our photography (Seattle) and my veil (Oregon).  Autumn in the Northwest has such rich, bold, vibrant colors and we really tried to reflect that in the use of color during the reception and with the bridal party. The decor in the ceremony room was all white, to create that distinctive difference between the serious part and the fun part!
