Today’s wedding combines some very glorious things. A girl who wanted a princess wedding on a budget, a Dad who built the wedding venue and some awesome DIY under $150! This is Chad and Emily’s wedding by the talented Dave Ainley, and what a wedding it was!
A little from Emily about her perfect DIY wedding…
“Our big day had to be a mix of everything masculine and everything feminine. The venue was the two places we love best: St. Aloysius Church that my family attends, and my parents home. Holding the reception at my parents home fulfilled both his need for the outdoor wedding and my need for a princess setting. My dad built a barn a few years ago and in his great love for masonry and my need to be a princess, he put a big silo that closely resembles Rapunzel’s tower- Voila! Princess wedding here we come!
The perfect settings sparked my imagination and everything started coming together perfectly. My vendors, family, and friends were all so fabulous and helped carry out my artistic visions. I wanted to create a “DIY” type wedding. I put together all my centerpieces (minus the flower arrangements, the gift table, and the guest book table. Most the items I was able to find on sale at stores like TJ Maxx and Ross. I also used this amazing website called save-on-crafts to find other items like the paper lanterns. Everyone knows weddings can be so expensive, but I wanted to show other brides that the decorations can be done at a low price and still look fabulous. My DIY decor cost me right around $150.00 (which included all the supplies).”
