This is Katie and Ben’s wedding at Mitcham’s Barn. The word I would use to describe this little soiree is definitely, sweet. From the tea-length bride’s dress, the fiddle ceremony music and the inclusion of Maybee and Donny, the couple’s two basset hounds, to all the homemade details, this wedding is full of thoughtful touches. Katie and Ben were passionate about creating an event that was simple and beautiful, something I think they more than achieved. What makes this wedding even better is that Katie was a faithful follower of Apple Brides! Here is a little more from her about her day…
“Our wedding was the last 90 degree day in september 2011. We had a family member cater and decorated our selves. The easy beauty of that day is what made our wedding special. We Did our own flower arrangements, decorated the barn, made our own food, and generally created an amazing day.”
Thanks for sharing your wedding with us Katie!

Love ! Can easily see all the work and thought that went into this beautiful and heartfelt wedding
Love the wedding! I would love to see more photos of the inside of the venue! How many guests did you have?
Kahla,
We didn’t get as many pictures of the inside of the barn as I had hoped we would. We had about 75 guests and it was the last hot day of the summer (9/24). There were a lot of people out side because of the heat but it was so beautiful out that we didn’t even mind.
was there anything inside the barn? like tables or did you bring everything in yourselves?
very beautiful
This reply maybe too late but Amber, There were a lot of tables inside the barn and we did bring in a few of our own. There were a lot of church pew style benches that we carted down to the lawn for the ceremony. (about 6) They only really covered sitting room for family and elderly guests and everyone else milled around on foot for the ceremony.
