Joanna and Tony’s big day is the first summer 2012 reader wedding to be featured on Apple Brides!
Reader weddings are always some of my favorites, and this beautiful event held at Elkins Resort on Priest Lake is no exception. What makes this day even more special is that Meg and Rob of Rogue Heart Media shot both the video and the photography, and we get to see it all here today! Joanna was so pleased with how her video and photos turned out she gets teared up every time she watches it or looks through the photos!
Here’s what she had to say about her gorgeous DIY wedding:
“We’ve been going to the lake with friends each summer for 5+ years, and I knew right from the beginning that this was “the place”. Tony and I met when I moved to Fairfield WA, from San Diego, CA in 2004. After dating throughout high school, we’ve been together a total of seven years! Our wedding is unique because of our unique relationship. We’ve grown and learned so much together over the years. We had an engagement of almost 17 months while we planned, saved, and “DIY’d” anything that we could. I handmade the invitations, menus (with birch wood roses hand glued to each home printed menu..phew!), and little lavender satchels, I purchased a lot of decor throughout our engagement, making things more budget friendly (using save-on-crafts.com) to make our cupcake tree, and realistic looking roses from Hobby Lobby of all places for the centerpieces!”
And now for the beautiful photos also by Rogue Heart!

What a beautiful wedding! Where did you get your dress?
Thank you Cami! My dress is from Bridal Collections in Spokane. It is Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner. I had the neckline altered to be a sweetheart cut and I also purchased an alternative waist sash (the one that came with my dress was much too thick).
