Three lovely ladies, hair, make-up and lots of girl talk. Sometimes my job feels less like work and more like playing dress up! That’s how the entire day of shooting at Highland Gardens with Sarah of Park Road Photography felt. Just a bunch of girls running around a pond full of turtles, laughing on a swing and nibbling on yummy bites during our “modern garden party” cocktail scene. This shoot is definitely for the girls!
You will be happy to know affordability and accessibility were taken into account throughout the shoot. You will see a DIY streamer photo backdrop, store bought flowers made into simple arrangements and super cute and very affordable maids dresses and jewelry from Forever 21. Vases, candles and martini glasses from the dollar store (you can’t believe what a steal those items were)!
Now get this, the brides dress is my actual wedding dress from Club Monaco! It was only $150.00 and I would wear it all over again given the chance (truthfully, I have actually worn it on several occasions…..one day just isn’t enough!)
The best part about Highland Gardens is owner extraordinaire Alena. She is sweet as can be and seriously passionate about weddings. Given how accommodating she was with the whole photo shoot crew, I can only imagine how well she takes care of her brides. So ladies, sit back and take in all the girly goodness.
Oh, and just for fun, leave a comment (if you dare) admit to wearing your wedding dress since your nuptials!

I’ve worn my wedding dress once since I got married for our second reception. I also forced my little sister to slip into my lovely wedding frock once for a photo shoot (benefits of being an older sister!).
I’ve worn my wedding dress twice for photo shoots since my wedding..which was only in June! I am so glad I’ve gotten plenty of use out of the dress, it makes it feel like it was even more worth the money!
Alena!
Just beautiful…
And, for the record I can still fit into my wedding dress at age 52! My girls have also enjoyed trying it on over the years.
Teri :~)
This makes me smile!
Alena, I am sooo happy for you and your business endeavors! Cheers to the future!
