Davenport Wedding by Madeline James Photography

I think Mervin and Caitlin’s wedding might be one of my favorite Davenport Hotel weddings we’ve ever featured. I just love how the couple was able to make their theme perfectly complement the Davenport decor, yet still be very unique and personal. The two chose Arah and Julie of Madeline James Photography to be their photographers, which was an excellent choice! I’m loving each and every shot, but especially all the ones at Scout (a restaurant/bar in the Montvale downtown).

Also… heading to the bar with your bridal party for drinks before your ceremony might just be the BEST idea of 2012…just saying.

Check out Caitlin’s great wedding advice below!

Advice from bride Caitlin:

“Make the day your own!  We didn’t feel obligated by traditions, so we picked our favorites; swapped cake for cookies and milk and didn’t worry about equal bridal party’s. We were married by a local author, Chris Crutcher, who knew us personally and made our ceremony incredibly personal and meaningful!

If it fits in your budget, do an engagement session!  It was so comforting to have already spent time with Julie and Arah. Come wedding day, they felt like old friends who happened to be following us around with cameras!

Savor each and every moment. As cliche as it may sound, it will all go by in a flash. We’d heard it a million times but could never imagine just how true that was. We bought a little notebook on our honeymoon to write down all of the little moments we could remember!

We had the absolute wedding of our dreams and couldn’t have done it without my mom and our lifelong neighbors/friends/family, Heidi and Gayle.  They knew our vision and put the final touches on everything the day of. And Briana at the Davenport – she is a wedding planner genius!  Seriously, that girl had every single small detail covered.

It never hurts to have a celebrity staying at your venue either. LMFAO and their song Party Rock unofficially became the theme song of the wedding!”
