Continuing on with this week’s theme of couples who took unexpected venues and turned them into their dream wedding (hopefully you saw yesterday’s G-Prep wedding), today we get to see Ariel and Sam’s big day at a summer camp on Deer Lake! The couple grew up at the camp and knew it would be the perfect place to tie the knot. They transformed the grounds with pretty and thoughtful details, which were almost all DIY….including a lego cake topper!
Here’s what photographer, Amber Glanville, had to say about this sweet couple….
“Sam and Ariel were married on the shores of Deer Lake, at the summer camp where she grew up – and where they’d fallen in love. Sam had been a lifeguard… so the dock was an obvious place for their first look. Their story reminds me so much of my own love story, and it was fun hearing them reminisce about their summers spent on the water.
Their whole wedding day was perfect! The weather was gorgeous, and everyone was relaxed, happy and SO much fun to shoot! Friends and family gathered beneath the pines to surround these two as they joined their lives together. I love how simple everything was, and yet so beautiful – you can’t beat nature as the best backdrop! Ariel found her dress and necklace on Etsy, and arranged flowers with the help of her bridesmaids. She also made her cake, and Sam constructed the coolest cake topper out of legos.”
