Amy and Skip live on the East Coast and are planning their wedding in Spokane for next year. This is no easy feat! Luckily they found Jerome Pollos Photography and Apple Brides to help them navigate Spokane’s wedding waters! Jerome sent me their adorable engagement and I just love it. He took the couple all over downtown and really captured how fun and in love the two are. Julie from The Make-Up Studio did Amy’s gorgeous make-up for the shoot!
Here is what Jerome had to say about the couple…
“Skip and Amy are great models. They don’t know what they’re doing, they laugh a lot, are constantly smiling and they end up in their own little world for a few moments totally ignoring me. It’s awesome. But when we first got started, it was awkward for them. Then it was taken to the “awkwardly awesome” level — lots of laughter, goofiness and fun.
When these two contacted me in April about their engagement session, I was a little cautious because they live on the east coast and I typically like to have a face-to-face meeting to make sure we’re going to be a good match. But after a while talking about their likes and wants and the locations they liked in Spokane (they’re both Gonzaga grads), I knew it was going to be good.
One of my first frames was of these two being themselves in front of the brick wall at The Elk in Browne’s Addition. It was a good indication of things to come.
I can’t wait for their wedding next year. It’s going to be awesome. Maybe even awkwardly awesome in only a way that these two can!”
Here’s a little from Amy about planning a wedding in Spokane from far away and about their engagement session with Jerome…
“Planning a wedding is difficult, but planning a wedding from across the country seems impossible. Especially, when Spokane is not featured on most wedding websites. We were so relieved to discover Apple Brides and even more thankful that among all the fantastic vendors it led us to Jerome Pollos. Initially, we were overwhelmed by the number of photographers, but after seeing a post featuring Jerome we were immediately interested. Jerome’s website further affirmed our initial feelings and the recommendations from three of his previous clients sealed the deal.
We were nervous to book Jerome for our engagement session before meeting him. However, when we communicated to him over the phone and by email, we found him to be both easy going and detail oriented. Engagement sessions always sounded slightly awkward to us, but it turned out to just be a lot of fun. Jerome let us take the lead on what we wanted our session to be like and worked hard to demonstrate our personalities while also creating beautiful and thoughtful photographs. We are over the moon about our engagement shots and can’t even wait to see how he will capture our wedding day.”
If anyone understands planning a wedding in Spokane from afar, it’s me. I planned my whole wedding from Ireland. It didn’t take me long to realize there was a serious lack of online resources for brides in this area, which is why I started Apple Brides. So hearing that brides like Amy find Apple Brides helpful makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! And it makes me feel even better when these brides are able to find their perfect vendors on the site too!
