What makes your photography unique?
I had to laugh when I read this question because with the name Distinction Studio this is not the first time I have been asked that question. I can honestly say Distinction Studio is distinct (or unique) because it is more than just photography! I enjoy getting to know the people I work with and I always want to go above and beyond what they expect. Starting from the moment you book your wedding it is all about making your wedding planning and wedding day a great experience! I understand the photographer plays a key role in the wedding day and because of that, I am your go to person. It is your day, so let’s make it perfect!
What is included in your packages?
Every wedding is unique and your package should be too! I create a package just for you; I offer things such as an engagement session, full resolution files with print release, online gallery with ordering ability, albums, prints and so much more!
How would you describe your style?
All-Inclusive! Think photo-journalistic meets portraiture with a hint of tasteful modern, all of which gives you timeless photographs you are sure to love!
What should brides and grooms look for in their photographer?
Two things that are important to look for in a photographer are knowledge and compatibility. Knowledge means they know about photography (obviously that’s important), but they need to know more than just photography. Wedding photography is a whole new word. It is so much more than just taking the photographs. Make sure your photographer knows how to plan out your wedding timeline, the important moments to capture, the typical flow of a wedding and how the photography should go. Your photographer should also know how to handle a “hiccup” in the wedding day. Ask your photographer questions and get to know them, which brings me to the compatibility part. When choosing a wedding photographer, make sure you are compatible, that you understand each other, you get along and trust them. Your wedding photographer is someone who is with you almost all day on your wedding day, make sure it is someone who you will enjoy and will make your wedding everything you want and more! This is why Distinction Studio strives to always go above and beyond being more than just a photographer, we want your wedding to be amazing!
Remember a wedding is about the bride and groom AND it’s your turn! It is your turn, not your little sister’s, cousin or best friend’s turn. Enjoy the planning process and have fun. When/if it gets stressful look to the person you are about to spend the rest of your life and take a deep breath! That always seems to work! I think it’s because it helps you know that in the end this is why you are planning this special day!
