Welcome Amy to Apple Brides!

Please join us in welcoming our winter intern, Amy Plass, to the world of Apple Brides!

We’re so thrilled to be adding Amy to our team, not only because she is one of the nicest people ever, but also because she was a long time reader of Apple Brides and was married last month to her fiance, Martin (you might remember her gorgeous engagement we featured a couple months ago!). As a recent Spokane area bride, Amy will be bringing a fresh bride voice to the site. She will be writing weekly posts about everything from how to plan a wedding in the Inland Northwest to the wonderful world of wedding etiquette, she will also be helping us with all the behind-the-scenes fun here at AB!

We asked Amy to write a little bit about herself!

I have been in love with weddings since childhood. I must have “married” my teddy bear at least a hundred times when I was little. My dad would always officiate and I am pretty sure we never got to the “I Do’s” before I got bored and started the first dance. Our receptions were often held at McDonalds.

Thankfully, as I grew up, so did my taste. I married my husband this year on September 8th in a beautiful wedding held at Old Mission State Park in Cataldo, Idaho. I knew before I married him though, that my obsession with weddings would not end after our wedding day. I love the Inland Northwest wedding scene; the vendors, the venues, and the incredible talent they have at making the perfect day. I am so excited to be able to continue working with them in this role with Apple Brides!

When I first moved to Spokane in 2006 to attend Gonzaga University, I was convinced that I would spend four years here, graduate, and then go back home. But then I fell in love. I fell in love with the place, my school, the beautiful outdoors, and even (eventually) the snow. And I fell in love with my (now) husband, who had roots here. I am glad that the plans that I made so long ago fell through. I am so incredibly blessed to live here, and I love it more and more every day.

I’m very excited to learn more about this place and the incredible vendors who call this place home. I am thrilled with the opportunity to share inspiration, advice, and hopefully some fun for the readers!
