We’ve got a summery reader wedding for you this snowy Monday morning! This is Sharee and Shawn’s big day by Emily Fisher Photography. The couple decided instead of spending money on a venue, they would buy a house big enough to host their wedding, the result was a sweet backyard wedding full of adorable and homespun details. Sharee and Shawn loved all their talented vendors so be sure to read Sharee’s blurb below!
“We had a beautiful marriage in our backyard on July 27th, 2012. So many amazing people and businesses helped make our special day one to remember for everyone! This is our way of giving thanks and gratification for such a perfect day.
As with most brides and grooms, we had a budget for our wedding. We had decided to invest the money that would have been for a venue into a house with nice sized lot. We love our property and now have an amazing memory of our backyard wedding.
Our photographer, Emily Fisher was fantastic! She had so much input for us and worked with us from the beginning on good angles for photos and where the big events (first dance, cake, garter) should be taken place. A unique feature about Emily is that she has built her own studio specifically for the bride and party to get ready and relax the day of. It was so much fun! There is everything you could possibly need at that studio. I had my traveling hair stylist Kelsie Fuher and traveling make-up artist Shasta Hankins come to the studio. It was very convenient and nice to not have to rush around the morning of. My hair was beautiful and stayed the way she fixed all day long. My make-up was natural looking and made me feel like a queen. Shasta is very professional and matched the make-up with my personality.
Our minister was a close family friend and a genuinely kind and thoughtful person. The vibe of the whole ceremony was full of love, her name is Gail Duba. Our DJ was a hilarious and kind person with an awesome taste in music! I have seen him perform at a variety of functions from reunions, weddings, or 80’s parties. He makes it happen! His name is Steve Baker.
My mother surprised us with a horse drawn carriage by the Rocking K Ranch. Our driver’s name was Kurt. It is was such a nice escape right after the ceremony to enjoy our union as we were being carried away in a Cinderella carriage.”
