We’re starting this week off with Libby and Cody’s beautiful DIY wedding by Matt Shumate Photography and Soiree Event Design. The couple held the event at Libby’s parent’s farm and put a huge emphasis on making their day personal and fun for their guests with a ton of thoughtful DIY details. To help them pull it all together they brought in Ali and Jessica of Soiree Event Design who were able to make sure the day went off without a hitch. If you’re planning a home or backyard wedding, I highly recommend hiring a wedding planner to help, it will take the stress off and ensure your day is perfect.
Here is a little from Ali about the details of Libby and Cody’s wedding…
“We absolutely loved working with Libby and Cody on their September wedding. One of the things that we loved most was how much family and friends contributed to this event. The father of the bride leveled their pasture and spent countless hours up-keeping newly planted grass for a ceremony and reception location, the bride’s aunt contributed the gorgeous flowers and potted plants to cover the tent stakes, family members brought pies for their dessert table, a family friend handled the bar (which was also handcrafted for this event) and even grandma contributed a bunch of garbage cans to keep everything clean! I love it when a family and community are so involved in a wedding. It infuses so much personality into the affair. On top of that every single guest felt welcome. The bride’s family opened up their home (and pasture to over 15 RVs) for any guests who needed an over night stay or wanted to join in on brunch in the morning. Even as vendors, we were invited to join in the festivities.
As well as the sense of community that this event conveyed, it had a lot of fun details. A spacious tent was designated for the bar with cocktail tables tied with twine sashes and bucket of peanuts which guests were encouraged eat and leave the shells on the ground. Live music by the very talented Luke Jaxon Band kept people on their feet all evening (I’m sure the generous bartender didn’t hurt that either)! There were cowboy boots, a subtle fall palette, handmade jam jars, hay bails and so much more. We felt so fortunate to be a part of this wedding!”
