Her wealth of experience and sophisticated style is a welcome addition to our little community. Here is an interview with Robyn…
How long have you been planning events?
Over 10 years officially, however I have always been the party planner in the family, I love to entertain and put together a great party or event. I am so blessed that I can have a business planning events!
What made you decide to go into weddings?
Weddings really chose me they are the best event to plan, I enjoy getting to know the bride and groom and their families and the emotional component of planning such an important milestone. I like corporate event planning but I LOVE wedding planning.
Why should brides consider hiring a wedding planner?
Sometimes couples are weary of hiring a planner because they don’t want to lose control. A good wedding planner doesn’t “take over” they collaborate and let’s be honest planners have experienced hundreds of weddings, you will only have one, don’t you want to use that expertise to make it the most stress free and enjoyable experience? In my opinion every wedding should hire a professional planner, even if it is only for wedding day coordination.
We offer a wide range of planning services from full planning to wedding day management everything is customizable to what the clients needs. In addition to wedding planning we also offer proposal planning, which is designed to help the groom to be create a perfect proposal. We are also experts in destination weddings; the Inland Northwest is so beautiful I can’t imagine a more gorgeous spot for a destination lakeside or mountain wedding.
There are so many elements I enjoy, meeting the couple, working with the vendors, designing the layout and décor, but probably the one thing that just brings it all together is seeing the bride walk down the aisle at the ceremony, after all that is why all the planning happens so two people can start their forever together.
How will your experience in weddings help the wedding plans go smoother?
I approach each wedding with a plan and make sure it is realistic. I also believe open and honest communication with all the vendors is essential in order to have a flawless event. I don’t see myself as the “boss” but a team member, my role is to be an advocate for the couple and ensure their vision is realized.
How do you come up with the concept of a wedding theme for your clients?
I first like to ask my clients what their priorities are for the wedding. Then we go from there as to whether the centerpieces will resemble lush gardens or floating candles. I encourage them to use resources like Pinterest, however I create boards where both myself and the client can pin thus making sure I know what they are thinking. Once we get to the point of making hard decisions these boards are great reference tools.
