Farm to Table Reception Dinner by Feast Catering

I have to admit, I am a buy local nut. I love to support local Spokane and North Idaho businesses as much as I possibly can. During the summer, I enjoy being able to buy all of the groceries I need from farmers markets. So when Sylvia from Feast Catering told us about their Farmers Market Dinner, I was overjoyed to be able to tell our brides about it!

One of the fastest growing trends in the food industry is the importance of food to be healthy, seasonal inspired, organic and locally sourced. This has greatly influenced how brides choose their menus.  As people become more aware of food and what they are eating, there is a growing concern about where their food is coming from. One of Feast’s most popular menu is called the “Farmers Market Dinner.” in which the menu focuses on what is in season and available at the farmer’s market the actual week of the wedding. Since it is different from week to week, this requires a little flexibility and faith on the part of the bride, but in the end, the bride and guests are always delighted. Unlike most produce that is picked before it’s ripe in order to make the long journey to the grocery store, the produce at the farmer’s market is picked at its peak, that very week,  producing food that is vibrant, flavorful and deeply satisfying. Beforehand, the bride will choose the main course ( beef, chicken, fish, etc) but the salads, sides and appetizers are determined by what is available. Based on a list of preferences they have already given us, and a quick run down of whats at the market, we will create a menu from farmers market ingredients. Guests repeatedly tell us how grateful they are for food that is fresh and healthy and grown right here in our area. The Farm to Table dinner is all around an exceptional dining experience, and it feels good to support local farmers.
