I love featuring weddings on the Palouse, especially ones at the stunning Meadowinds Chapel. This is Jake and Beth’s wedding by Adrian Busse Photography (who is featured on AB for the first time!). This couple wanted to steer clear of the typical barn wedding you usually see on the Palouse and instead plan an elegant and whimsical shabby-chic event. Here’s what Beth had to say about her wedding…
“Jake and I met in Moscow while we were going to college. We absolutely love Moscow and the Palouse! When we started planning our wedding it was really important to both of us to try and find a venue on the Palouse. We both knew that the Palouse Hills would make the most romantic whimsical setting for a wedding. I searched for a while for venues in the Moscow/Pullman area but didn’t have much luck. There are some beautiful barns in the area, but that didn’t fit well with our whimsical shabby/chic theme. After hours of research I finally found the perfect venue! Meadowinds Chapel is a beautiful chapel and castle that overlooks the Palouse. It was a perfect location too, only a few miles outside of Moscow. The first time I saw the venue, I literally gasped. It was so beautiful and exactly what I had been dreaming about since I was a little girl. Our colors were pink, gold, and champagne. We used peonies for our main flower, I absolutely love peonies! Jake and I handpicked all of the flowers for the wedding at our local flower farm. My grandmother who is a florist did the floral arrangements. My grandmother told me when I was a little girl that she wanted to do the flowers for my wedding, so they were extra special to me because she was able to do them!
One of my favorite things about my wedding was my dress. It was truly love at first site when I saw my dress in a magazine ad a few years ago. I was overjoyed when I found out that Vera Wang did a line for David’s Bridal. I have always LOVED Vera’s dresses, so you can only imagine how happy I was when I found out she made a dress line that was in my price range. It was the only dress I tried on. My favorite part about the dress was the color; it was a beautiful light blush. I absolutely loved having a dress that was unique! The bridesmaid’s dresses were champagne; they complimented the light pink color in of my dress perfectly!
My wedding day was everything I had ever dreamed of! We were overwhelmed by all of the love that surrounded us, it was a perfect. I am so grateful for our amazing photographer; she captured so many beautiful moments on our special day.”
