Jenn Alberts is a wedding / lifestyle / commercial photographer here in Spokane, WA. She has a BA degree in photography from Brooks Institute of Photography Santa Barbara, and a AA from Spokane Falls in photography. She has over 13 years experience doing professional photography and retouching and has a rich background in commercial and wedding photography. Today Jenn is going to explain how in wedding photography, it all about the details!
As a wedding photographer my job is to capture the day. This includes so much more then most people might expect. I’m there to record the intimate moments (a sweet kiss right at sunset), formal moments (family portraits), classic wedding moments (cutting the cake, bouquet toss), and all the details!
Weddings are an amazing, unique event created by a couple that represents who they are. The most unique weddings that I have witnessed as a photographer always include personal details. These details tell your guests who you are and entertain at the same time! With a ten year history in professional commercial photography and four years of wedding photography, I never miss the details. In fact it’s one of my favorite parts of the wedding. My final dvd that is delivered to clients ALWAYS includes an entire folder of DETAILS.
Finding the right details for you may be just around the corner! These days there is so much inspiration to be found on the internet. If after looking at few bridal magazines you are still undecided or uninspired, you may want to try Pinterest to find the style and budget that fits you. You may be signing up for a little bit of work, but in the long run, I believe, it’s worth it!
Try and find the best details that really represent you and your soon-to-be husband. Choose a theme or a color that pulls your details together. Put the time and effort into making your wedding details great!
As a photographer I take photos in the moment while also planning for the future. I’m always thinking about how these photos will all come together to tell the story of love between a couple and the amazing day when they came together as husband and wife. For years or even decades to come you will have two things left to remember your wedding day, love and wedding photos! Remember the details! A photo of the flowers may end up being just as important to you as the sunset kiss. So be sure to check with your photographer to insure that they will capture those details along with all your other great moments!
