This is Mark and Laura’s lovely wedding on Green Bluff at Trezzi Farm by Madeline James Photography. Not only is this wedding super stylish with it’s bright yellow color scheme, milk glass vases and chevron accents, but there’s also some great DIY ideas too (and a vespa!). Here’s what Laura had to say about their wedding:
“Mark and I wanted our wedding to be casual and fun for our guests. We wanted to create an environment that was laid back and wanted a simple summer outing with loved ones. Our wedding was in the afternoon, so instead of focusing on packing the dance floor we provided lots of activities like our DIY “photo booth”, croquet, badminton and crossword puzzles.
When considering our decor, we wanted to make as much ourselves as possible and also focused on creating items that could be re-purposed after the wedding. My mom was kind enough to sew table runners and bow ties, while I occupied my time painting second-hand bottles and making paper decor, and Mark built our wooden centerpieces. Working on our little “tasks” turned into a fun way for us to spend our summer together!
We spent a lot of time picking out the perfect playlist for our wedding, and as favors we gave out “wedding soundtrack” CDs. Another touch that was a big hit was our dessert – ice cream from The Scoop – delivered in their adorable truck.
My advice to brides is to have fun planning your big day. Enjoy your engagement and the process of making big decisions together. Remember, you want to be able to look back at this time of your life fondly :)”
