We’ve been so ready for Summer to come for a while now, but talking to Fannie’s Ice Pops is only making our Summer cravings worse. In the best way possible! If you’re looking for something sweet and refreshing for your wedding then we give you the answer to your search below as we ask Fannie’s Ice Pops to tell us how they got started and what they have to offer. (Hint: you don’t have to wait for Summer!)
Tell us about Fannie’s Ice Pops.
Many years ago, my great grandmother Fannie began harvesting and selling fruit on a small farm in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Fannie’s desire to cultivate goodness directly from the earth inspired us to create Fannie’s Ice Pops – to honor the ideas that simple is better, less is sometimes more, and nothing needs to be added to natural ingredients to make them taste delicious.
Fannie’s Ice Pops are made by hand in small batches using seasonally fresh local and organic (whenever possible) ingredients. We don’t believe we need to hide the flavor of natural fruit, so we never add any of the yucky stuff – no refined sugars, high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors or artificial colors. Our ice pops contain only fresh ingredients, herbs, spices and organic cane sugar (evaporated cane juice). All of our pops are dairy free, if it says ‘cream’, we use coconut milk. That’s it. So simple we think Fannie would approve.
How you got started?
Everyone loves the thrill of the ice cream truck rolling down their street and maybe having to run a little bit to get their favorite treat. My family is no different. But I didn’t love all the sugar and artificial colors and flavors added in the limited options. Fannie’s started with the desire to have healthier options for my kids on hot summer day. We started experimenting at home with our favorite fruits and smoothies until we found the perfect combinations. They were so yummy, we decided they needed to be shared. We needed to come up with a fun way to deliver and sell the ice pops. We found an ‘old style’ ice cream bike called an icicle tricycle. We loved the vintage feel and the option of going anywhere. The rest is history.
What is your specialty/what do you offer?
Our specialty is natural, fresh seasonally flavored ice pops made from local and organic ingredients whenever available. We are always experimenting with new flavor combinations… but some of our customer favorites are: raspberry+basil, blueberry+lemonade, blackberry+rose, straight-up strawberry, strawberry+basil, strawberry+rhubarb, Arnold Palmer (iced tea+ lemonade), strawberry+balsamic, chocolate+avocado (sea salt optional on this one), cucumber+apple+mint+lime, roasted peach+vanilla, and lemonade+rosemary. We are always open to working with couples who have specific cravings and want a custom ice pop for their event.
What price does your services start at? Do you have packages? Do you deliver and set up?
Ice Pops are $3.00 each with a minimum order of 50 pops. If you order more than 100 pops, the price drops to $2.50 each. We have two types of services available. The first option includes delivery of pops, our ice pop tricycle and attendant at your celebration. We charge $100 an hour for this package. If you have another idea of how to distribute the pops at your event and don’t need us, we are happy to deliver the pops for $25 fee + dry ice costs. As I mentioned earlier, we love working with the bride and groom on custom flavors that are meaningful to the couple. For a small additional charge, we are able to make custom labels with the bride and groom names and wedding date.
With all the options out there why should couples have ice pops at their wedding?
Ice pops are a fun, unique and refreshing addition to any celebration. Ice pops are also a perfect option for dietary concerns of the bride and groom or their guests. They are dairy free, gluten free, nut free and 100% vegan! If you want to make these into an adult treat for your guests…put an ice pop in a glass of champagne = magic! A great ‘signature cocktail’ for your special day. Or, kids and adults alike will go crazy for the G rated version.
