We’re so thrilled to begin featuring boudoir photographers on Apple Brides– it’s such a special way to not only celebrate you, but give a special gift to your spouse. We believe that boudoir is a classy, fun way to celebrate what makes you so unique and beautiful– both inside and out! That’s why we’re thrilled to kick off our new vendor category with Sydney Baye Photography. She took some time to give us the low down and why boudoir is rapidly gaining popularity, and why you should shove aside your inhibitions and book yourself a session ASAP!
What is Boudoir Photography?
Boudoir showcases how beautiful a woman is through the visual medium of photography and displays that beauty in a way a woman’s husband, or future husband, can marvel at. Boudoirs vary based upon the bride’s preference of “sexy”. Some of my ladies bring their entire lingerie collection, while others simply bring one pair of lacey panties. Some brides like to flaunt their figure in tight little outfits, while others are prefer to be more bashful and wear their man’s favorite jersey or work shirt. Just like the big wedding day, every boudoir session is a reflection of their personality and style.
What makes your photography unique?
As women, we struggle with feeling comfortable and confident in our own skin, yet here we are… beautiful, strong, full of life and sexy. My passion for boudoir photography is derived from the confidence and joy my clients radiate when I deliver their photos. Obviously, I’m obsessed with the photos my brides get to keep forever, however, I shoot boudoirs for the satisfaction of affirming my brides with just how beautiful they really are.
What does a boudoir photoshoot look like?
Imagine drinking champagne, listening to Beyonce, laughing hysterically and just having a great time. That’s our boudoir shoot. We chat, laugh, get to know each other, listen to great music, you drink champagne and I take photos while guiding you on how to “move”. Simple. Easy. Fun.
Why should brides consider a boudoir shoot?
It’s something you’ll walk out being happy you did for yourself as much as you’re happy you did it for your groom. I have received countless emails from grooms thanking me for helping their bride see themselves the way they see them. It’s truly an empowering experience and opens a level of confidence in a relationship which is unmeasurable. The following is a recent response from a client after receiving her photos: “Your photos literally made me cry. They made me feel so strong and beautiful.”
What’s your favorite part about shooting boudoirs?
The reactions I get from my clients once they’ve seen their photos. No questions asked.
What is included in your packages?
All of my boudoir packages include the edited images. Packages vary depending on if and which photo book you choose. One package I offer and have a blast with every time I like to call a “Boudoir Party”. Boudoir Parties usually end up at a hotel room or a house rented with a group of women whom are all friends, wine, champagne, music, appetizers, an ungodly amount of lingerie (BYOlingerie, of course… haha!) and we basically shoot all day! The Boudoir Parties are fun and a great way for women to bond through the experience of complimenting and affirming one another. It’s especially great for brides who may want to book a day with their bridal party and for those that may want to experience it with their friends.
What is your price range?
$400-$700 (per person)
How would you describe your photos?
To me, sexiness is being classy. I think putting it short describes it best. I like keeping it simple and elegant. I believe this empowers women the most and, excuse me for being blunt, but keeping consistent with that mission- the women I shoot won’t end up looking like their photos are from the back pages of a plastic wrapped magazine.
