When this last minute horror movie inspired submission crossed our desks, we knew we couldn’t pass it up for Halloween. Talk about unique! We love that this couple opted for an engagement session that reflected something they love, rather than just what was traditional. While obviously a theatrical engagement isn’t for everything, that’s exactly what makes this so special– it’s one of a kind and fits this couple’s style perfectly!
This bride admitted while she knew she didn’t want traditional, she wasn’t sure what type of photos she wanted until Dave Ainley suggested this idea.
“I love horror movies and our favorite holiday is Halloween. Aric has a kind of dry sense of humor so was totally stoked for this idea as well. The actual shoot was so much fun! Dave did whatever he could to make us feel comfortable in front of the camera and really coach us to stay in character. We were able to talk Aric’s brother Jake into dressing up as our villain and he was amazing! Such a good sport despite being sprayed with fake blood out of turkey basters and syringes. At one point we had poured so much fake blood on to his face he couldn’t even open his eyes. We actually had to stop and clean the blood out of his eyes before starting again. So awesome! The hardest part of the whole thing was staying in character and not laughing, we all had so much fun and Jake looked so ridiculous! We were also super excited to get to include Aric’s truck. He bought that ’72 ford earlier this year and just loves that thing. It was great to get to include that in our shoot. When we got our pictures back we couldn’t have been happier with the final product. They are so fun to look through and exactly what we were wanting.”
