There is nothing better than having live music at your wedding. Except when that music is the absolutely angelic sounds of a harp and flute! Musical entertainment has been a staple at celebratory events for centuries, and it still somehow manages to surprise, sophistication, and personality to a modern wedding. Robinsong offers a variety of musical options, all guaranteed to elevate your big day to the next level!
How long have you been playing music?
Together over 15 years, Separately 50 and 60 years
What made you decide to go into weddings?
It is a joy to provide musical support for a couple’s significant life event. We love to create an ambiance that can help to deepen and hold sacred this moment, whatever the spiritual, religious or secular needs are.
What range of services do you offer?
Our main offering is harp and flute, playing light classical, folk, hymns and light rock. We also can provide music from piano or organ to panpipes, guitar, and charango, for a South American flare. We specialize in making it “Your day” and will learn new music if asked and feasible.
Why should brides consider hiring a musician?
Because a live musician is more able to create the ambiance that will be “just right” and extra special for their event.
What is your favorite part about providing entertainment at weddings?
See comments above. We can also be a part of the reception if the music we provide is what is wanted. We would not be appropriate for dancing, for instance.
Can you briefly explain the process you go through when working with a couple to provide music for their wedding?
From the moment the couple contacts us, we 1. Listen to what they are looking for musically (ascertaining if we are the right group for them). 2. Set up a time to meet and play for them and settle on what they want. 3. We attend the rehearsal if it is feasible, so we are prepared for any eventuality. We pride ourselves on being able to go with any flow. 4. We play music for the wedding, usually before to set the mood, during, at special moments, and after, as guests leave. But, again it is what the couple wants.
Will you travel?
Yes. Outside a 25 mile radius, we would add a $25 fee.
