What makes your photography unique?
While I’m photographing I am constantly asking myself what this couple will want to look back on and remember about their relationship in 20 years. I want my photos to invoke memories. Maybe they were playful, or always touching, or maybe there she’s whispering a long forgotten inside joke. Everybody likes to reflect back on their love when it was new and they were young. We all want to remember when we couldn’t keep our hands off each other and when we talked all night about nothing and everything. When you didn’t need sleep because you had love. I am definitely more interested in capturing interaction over any thing else and I very rarely ask for eye contact. My primary goal is to keep things authentic in relation to the couple I’m photographing. To capture what’s true in their love together.
What is included in your packages? What is your price range?
My wedding packages range from 5-10 hours and all of them include engagement sessions and day after adventure formals. Engagement sessions have the option to add on a Love Film, which is where I make a little movie of our time together throughout the shoot. Wedding prices range from $2850-$3850.
How would you describe your style?
I’m definitely always striving for authenticity and emotional reaction. I want the feelings of the moment to be in the photos. I can be artsy if the mood strikes, and during a wedding it usually does. I also love motion and blur, so I often incorporate that into my photographs.
What should brides and grooms look for in their photographer?
Friendship and a kindred spirit. Your photographer is with you for literally the entirety of your wedding day and people don’t realize how big of a role we play in other ways as well. I haven’t shot a wedding where I haven’t become a part of it as more than just the photographer. I have run errands for my brides, helped bustle the dress, helped hold it up during pee breaks, coordinated the groom so they don’t run into each other, applied lipstick and poured shots to calm nerves. I have ordered pizza for the groomsmen and danced with bridesmaids at the reception. We are there with you at every step and then some. Also, you should choose a photographer based on what their photos make you feel, so you can trust them to capture the emotions of your day without confining them to a shot list.
Any tips or advice for wedding planning?
Yes! If you know there is a vendor you definitely want for your wedding, book them as soon as you possibly can. Lots of newly engaged couples don’t realize how quickly vendors book up, sometimes a year or more in advance. Don’t procrastinate and miss out on getting what you want to have on your wedding day!
