You know those things in life that are small, but make a huge difference? Eyelash extensions are one of them. It’s one of those things you might not think you need until you see the seriously massive difference they can make.
And we aren’t talking about those glue on ones you get at Rite Aid. Professional extensions look natural and won’t fall off, if…and when…, you tear up or mid-reception. Having full lashes on your big day will not only make you look AMAZING, it will also be one less thing to worry about because you don’t need mascara! AND they last for two to three weeks, so your honeymoon will be worry free too! It used to be you’d have to travel to a bigger city to get them, but now Leslee of Eyelash Artistry can do them right here in Spokane!
I’ve been talking to Leslee for a couple weeks now, and one thing is for sure…she is seriously passionate about the fact that eyelash extensions make a huge difference and will make a bride feel and look more beautiful. It’s so refreshing to meet someone who is so passionate about what they do, she is without a doubt Spokane’s top eyelash professional. Oh and guess what?!
And to help us understand the whole eyelash extension process, I sent Leslee some questions…
How long have you been doing eyelash extensions?
I have been doing eyelash extensions for 4 years.
What made you decide to go into it?
When I was taking my practical exam to receive my esthetics license, I met a woman from Seattle who was wearing extensions. They were so pretty, and so natural looking, as soon as she explained to me what they were and how they were applied, I knew I wanted to specialize in eyelash extensions. I was hooked.
I was trained, certified, and directory level certified by Xtreme Lashes, the #1 eyelash extension company in the world. Their training and products are far and above the highest quality available. Ever since I started doing eyelashes 4 years ago, it has been my main business and I have done over 600 eyelash extension applications. I have encountered every eyelash extension situation imaginable from clients who are trying eyelash extensions for the first time, to clients who were traumatized from having a bad experience somewhere else and need to have their extensions repaired. And I absolutely love what I do. You don’t realize that such a small thing as eyelashes can enhance your appearance so much, and I love that my clients love their new lashes.
Brides can benefit many ways from eyelash extensions.
1 – Save Time (Pre-wedding):
Wedding preparation is hectic! There’s so much to accomplish and there never seems to be enough time for the bride to get to everything. Eyelash extensions are a great time saver! Brides can skip the morning makeup routine and make it to all their errands that much faster all while still looking fabulous!
2 – Save Face (Pre-wedding):
Stress and lack of sleep plague many a bride-to-be during the weeks leading up to the wedding. Eyelash extensions can create a well-rested, wide-eyed appearance and help disguise any signs of stress or sleep deprivation that often show on the face.
3 – Stay Fresh (Day of):
The actual wedding day is typically quite long for brides. Preparations begin early in the morning and celebrations last late into the night. With eyelash extensions, brides are photo-ready throughout the entire day with no need to stop for cosmetic touch-ups!
4 – Stay Flawless (Day of):
There’s nothing worse than a beautiful bride sporting raccoon circles of mascara around her eyes. Since just about every bride tears up at her wedding, eyelash extensions are the ideal solution to prevent any mascara mishaps!
5 – Set Sail (Post-wedding):
Starting out a wedding in eyelash extensions extends into the honeymoon. For brides planning any post-wedding trips, eyelash extensions are the perfect travel companion. New wives can enjoy all the extracurricular activities at their exotic destination of choice with no fuss & no muss and still look absolutely fabulous!
What makes “good eyelashes”?
All eyelash extensions are definitely not the same. Several things go into good eyelashes….training, experience, good products, and most importantly the skill of the person applying them. Each set is custom designed based on the health of the person’s natural lashes, their personality, eye shape, and the type of look they want.
How long do they last?
They will stay full and beautiful for 2-3 weeks. They are attached one-by-one to your natural eyelash hairs, which just like the hair on your head, is in a continuous state of shedding and growing new hair in. The eyelash extensions are semi-permanent; this means they stay on until your natural lash sheds in preparation for a new eyelash to grow in. A bride could get her lashes done just for her wedding and the lashes will gradually shed out over time, or, she could continue to get fills done every 2-3 weeks and wear the lashes indefinitely.
Do they hurt?
No. Good eyelashes do not hurt at all, either when they are being applied or after the application. Many of my clients fall asleep during the application, and some describe the application as butterfly kisses on their eyes. After the application, the client should feel nothing at all, just like their natural eyelashes. Eyelashes that hurt either during the application or after is a sign that something was done wrong.
What about my bridal party?
Lashes are great for everyone in the bridal party.
Do you offer other services?
Yes! I am so excited about other services that I am adding to my business. I just returned from LA where I learned the art of brow shaping from Damone Roberts, the eyebrow king of Hollywood. There is so much more to brow shaping than just waxing. I learned how to design brows based on face shape, face structure, as well as trimming, shading, and highlighting. Having your brows done this way means you will be able to get your brows done and go on with your day and no one will be able to tell you just came from getting your brows done. I already offer lash and brow tinting, and will soon be offering two services for natural eyelashes: Lash lift, which is a type of eyelash perm previously only available in France, and semi-permanent mascara. These will be coming soon so watch the website and facebook for new service announcements.
How do I schedule for my wedding?
Go to my website, www.EyelashArtistry.com, and click on the bridal tab. There are bridal package deals listed there, which include your lash extensions, and different options for take-home products. These packages are great deals, and include big discounts on the aftercare products and cosmetics. When you decide which package you’d like, select the PayPal button to pay the deposit, and include your name, phone number, and wedding date in the PayPal notes. When I receive your deposit, I will contact you to set up your lash appointments. It’s that easy.
