Alexa Jourdan, the owner of Kiss & Makeup, is a Spokane native. She developed her esthetician skills at Portland School of Beauty where she challenged herself to learn the most modern techniques for make-up application and skin care treatments. Now, Alexa is bringing her experience and expertise back home.
Professionally, I have been doing makeup for 3 years but I have had a passion for doing make-up for much longer and sought opportunities to practice and develop my skills. I attended beauty school in Portland and my mother and I opened Kiss & Make-Up in December 2012.
What is the inspiration for your make-up style?
I am inspired by the glam of old hollywood – the bold lips, sleek lines and dramatic eyes. I am also inspired by the clean and fresh look of a woman’s natural beauty that can be enhanced and brightened by a light touch of make-up.

How should brides get their skin ready for wedding day make-up?
To prep for the big day, Kiss& Make-Up offers basic facials to refresh the skin for their big day. You’ll feel rejuvinated and will have a glow to match your excitement on your wedding day!
How do you help brides choose the right make-up for their wedding day?
Kiss & Make-Up offers a consultation with every bridal package. I invite my brides to find pictures of make-up they like on Pinterest or in magazines. We will review the pictures together and discuss how to personalize it for them in order to accentuate their features! We will even do a full trial make-up application so the brides will see how their make-up will look on the big day and we can discuss any changes they want to make. Brides have so many details to think about on their big day – we will do everything we can to prepare so that she can feel comfortable and confident when she says “I do!”

What products do you use?
I use the TIGI cosmetic line and airbrush pods with a variation of colors! Kiss & Make-Up also has different pigments and pallets from Stilla, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Medusa Makeup and Sugar Pill Cosmetics.
What should brides look for in their make-up artist?
Brides should look for someone who not only has great technique but also someone who will be there for them solely to make their day special. I love building bonds with my brides – during our consultation, we have time to talk and plan together. I take the time to truly understand my bride’s dream for her look on the big day and do everything I can to make sure she loves her make-up as much as her dress! I think my commitment to my bride’s vision helps her be more comfortable to talk to me about her likes and dislikes. Another thing that sets us apart is that we offer more than make-up services. We are a bride’s one-stop-shop for all her pre-wedding needs inlcuding waxing, lash extensions, and facials!
Will you travel and is there a fee?
Kiss & Make-Up will travel to be on-site for our weddings. A fee will be discussed at the consultation only if the wedding will be outside of a 30-mile radius of zip code 99201.
What is the price range of your services?
Our current range is $85-$200 for bridal make-up! We offer both basic makeup as well as full airbrush!
