Any excuse to go to Seattle, I will take! Can’t find an open Starbucks? Seattle. Itching to see someone throw a fish? Seattle. Sister and mom reuniting for the first time in over a year? Seattle! I vowed that my trip wouldn’t be just endless shopping and wine drinking in vain, (although there was plenty of that) I would find a fabulous mini-moon locale to share with all you Apple Brides readers. That I did! (I don’t mess around when it comes to making recommendations to ya’ll because
I don’t want to get fired I take my job very seriously.) I’m thrilled to share the details of my stay at the Grand Hyatt Seattle!

Upon my arrival in Seattle I dropped my mom and sister off at one of our favorite restaurants, Purple, and headed to the Grand Hyatt Seattle for a tour with Elan and Lindsay (aka super cool gals I would totally be friends with in real life.) I was immediately struck by how opulent and sophisticated the hotel is. I suddenly became painfully aware of the fact that I was in “I just drove for 4 hours condition.” Yikes! From the original artwork to to the wood furnishings and onyx details this AAA Four Diamond hotel is definitely impressive.
The hotel boasts a number of places to sip and nosh at, including Blue C Sushi, NYC Deli Market and Ruth’s Chris Steak House, which is known for aged Midwestern corn-fed prime steaks with a New Orleans flare. A must for happy honeymooners! I know many of you will appreciate the Starbucks adjoining the hotel’s lobby as well. I mean who can be bothered to get out of their pajamas for their morning venti soy, no foam latte with cinnamon powder steamed into the milk? I know I can’t! If you’re even lazier than me (not sure that’s even possible) Grand Hyatt Seattle offers room service ranging from intimate dinners to sandwiches and hors d’oeuvres.
Now let’s talk about the rooms, or “powder rooms”, rather. I mean, I could go on and on about the comfy beds, cloud like pillows, and our sprawling city view, but all I really want you to do is experience the loo! At one point during our stay my mom, sister and I found ourselves in robes, sitting around the soaking tub with glasses of wine laughing and carrying on, as ladies will do. It didn’t dawn on me until we polished off the bottle that we had spent the last hour in a bathroom. It felt more like a lounge– that’s how beautiful these bathrooms are! If they put a wine cooler in the giant glass enclosed shower I swear I would never leave! (I wonder if they have a suggestion box?)
With loads of great shopping, dining and site seeing within walking distance, the Grand Hyatt Seattle is clearly fit for a fab honeymoon, but I would remiss if I didn’t mention that they also host deliciously refined weddings. One of my favorite spaces is the Leonesa Ballroom. This elegantly appointed space offers wood paneling, exquisite chandeliers and 5,671 square feet of event space.
At 3,920 square feet, the slightly smaller Princessa Ballroom is equally handsome and unique with it’s subtle curved ceiling. A variety of smaller spaces are also available for more intimate gatherings.
From a complimentary night stay, champagne toast, in house linens, discounted room rates to parking for your guests, the Hyatt will see to it that all details are taken care of, and your wedding is truly an event of a lifetime!
