We LOVE wedding videos. Having a great videographer in your wedding day arsenal is one of the best decisions you can make during the planning process. There is truly no better way to capture and preserve your big day, especially when they are as talented as Your Story by Max! No matter what vibe you want: romantic, fun, epic… Your Story by Max will embody it with everything from the shots, to the editing, to the music. We sat down with Max to understand how he got here and what makes his videos so amazing.
1. What sparked your interest in videography?
My wife and I started out in wedding photography and did that for 4 years. During that time, I started to do short videos as a hobby and really fell in love with it. Naturally my love of weddings and new found hobby had to be combined!
2. What is it about filming that intrigues you?
The amount of emotions that can be captured is truly amazing! If a photo is a thousand words, then a video is a million! Not only do you capture a snapshot in time, you also receive motion, music, and words.
Being able to retell a story of a father walking his daughter down the isle with tears of joy in his eyes, or capturing all of the emotions when the bride and groom share their first look, keeps me intrigued and excited for each upcoming wedding!
3. Explain the connection you have with the couples you shoot and how that translates to your videos.
Even though we keep our specific style of filming, each couple is unique and we vary our editing techniques as well as music to match the couples personality and wedding to best tell their story.
4. What is your dream couple to film like?
My dream couple is the couple that is themselves, and enjoys the heck out of their wedding! I often tell couples I work with that all of the planning is done before the wedding, but on the day of to just relax and enjoy one the most most special days of their life. When you’re enjoying your wedding, that really allows your emotions to come through in both photos and videos.
5. Of all the types of videography out there why wedding videography?
While I love many different kinds of films, wedding films are ones that really get my emotions going. My wife would tell you that I’m not a very emotional person (which is true). I don’t get extremely happy from surprises, and I don’t cry during sad movies; but it’s seeing the shared genuine true love at weddings that can bring out my emotions. That’s what keeps bringing me back in capturing weddings!
