Who doesn’t want to live their wedding day over and over and over again? When you hire a videographer as talented as Killer Creations, you will be able to relive the best day of your life for years to come. (We’re pretty sure it doesn’t get any better than that!) We especially love how Jason and his team capture everything from the stunning scenery, to the little moments getting ready, and of course the main event! We sat down with Killer Creations to get all the deets on how to choose a videographer and what they have to offer.
What inspired you to become a videographer?
When I was a kid my uncle used to make impressive videos of family vacations and he would use clever storytelling to make them fun. I come from a very large Italian family and I loved how we’d all get together to watch, reminisce, and laugh. I work to capture that feeling in the videos I make today. I believe that storytelling is the most important part of any video and it’s truly the great stories that make a film a classic. Combine that with my fascination for the visual arts and a love for technology and there really was never any other career I could have done.
How long have you been doing videography?
I saved up and bought my first camera when I was 16; I’ve been making videos ever since. I started working in professional video production about 9 years ago and have had the opportunity to make corporate and commercial projects for companies like Lincoln, Toyota, Henry Ford Health System, HAP, Lowes, and Amway. I genuinely love what I do and am confident I will be able to provide you with a cinematic film that will last a lifetime.
What is your videography style?
The technological advancement of the video equipment we have today allows us to create gorgeous cinematic work that would have been impossible 10 years ago. Our style is cinematic, comfortably authentic, and personal. We use a range of different tools to help us tell a memorable story that is unique to each client.
Why do you think couples should get a videographer?
A wedding is just about the biggest and most personal event a couple will ever plan. There are so many fine details and people involved which will make it special and unique to them. While photography does an excellent job of providing snapshots of the day, video allows you to relive the most memorable moments in a very real way. It allows the couple to experience and enjoy their day from a different perspective and couples often see things in their video that they’d missed or forgot. The film also becomes something of a family heirloom as it’ll be enjoyed by their children and grandchildren for years to come.
What is your favorite part of a wedding?
Every couple is different and each wedding feels like a new canvas to tell their story. My favorite parts are often the tender moments such as the laughter and jitters as the bride and groom get ready for their day, the emotion between them when they see each other for the first look, and the smiles and tears of the guests. I also love capturing landscape shots and the fine details of a couple’s venue.
What should couples look for in a videographer?
I would recommend watching a videographer’s past work and ask yourself these questions: Do I think this video is fun and relatable even though I don’t know this couple? Do the videos match the style and feel that I’m looking for? Do I feel comfortable around this videographer and am I confident that they will provide me with a beautiful end product? Will they work well with other vendors? Are they passionate about making wedding films or is this just their day job?
What do your packages include?
Our most popular package (The Diamond Collection) includes two videos. The first is a feature film (or a highlight video) telling the story of your day in 4-7 minutes. The second video is a clean, documentary style film of the ceremony, toasts, dances, and any other formal events. This video is typically 40-60 minutes long. Both videos will be made available online. The package also includes a custom USB drive and case, two videographers, and multiple HD cameras for the day. We start and end the day with you, capturing the beginning prep all the way into the opening dances. If you wish for more extensive features we also offer higher packages that include aerial videography and an extended full day film.
What is your price range?
Our baseline package (The Essentials Wedding Video) starts at $2,100. We love to meet people, and welcome a phone call, email, or grab a cup of coffee should you have any further questions about our prices.
