If you’re just starting the wedding planning process, chances are you’re feeling at least a little overwhelmed right about now! Not sure when to interview florists, book your venue or chat with a caterer? Fear not, we’re laying it out for you right here! This is simply a guideline, and everybody’s planning journey is different, so don’t worry if you’ve done things a little out of order. It’s also important to know if there’s a vendor in any category you’ve had your eye on and love, booking them sooner rather than later is always a safe bet!
1 year prior to wedding:
-Have a date in mind, and secure your venue. This is #1! Venues book up super quickly, so a year in advance may seem crazy, but trust us, especially if you’re getting married in the high season (summer time) it’s not too soon!
-Next, interview and hire a wedding planner. They’ll be able to majorly assist you in the rest of your planning journey, so don’t skip them!
9 months prior to wedding:
-Next up, your photographer, especially if you have a favorite. Photographers book up crazy fast, so make sure you get an amazing one that you click with by booking them as soon as you have your date set.
-The same goes for a videographer, which we’re big proponents of!
6 months prior to wedding:
–Find a great DJ, who will also serve as an MC for your wedding. Hire someone who’s personality you love, as they’ll be a huge reflection of your big day!
-If you’re not getting married at a church, hire an officiant to marry you.
3 months prior to wedding:
-Secure your transportation, if needed, whether thats shuttle bus or limo!
1 month prior to wedding:
-Confirm all vendors and adjust numbers or details accordingly, if needed. Your planner should do this if you hired one, like we suggest!
