We love a wedding steeped in tradition. This couple took “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” to the next level! The wedding party was dressed to the nines in various shades of beautiful blue, and every DIY detail was perfectly placed. But what really makes this wedding stand out is the abundance of smiles and laughs! Just try not to grin from ear to ear by the time you reach the end of this post!
From the bride… We are two Gonzaga alumni that fell in love during our sophomore year at GU. We moved to San Francisco after graduation, but always knew we wanted to come back to Spokane to get married on campus at St. Aloysius. All 280+ of our family and friends joined us for the celebration and got to experience the beauty of the first snow of the season! The fall leaves and the big fluffy snowflakes made a perfect backdrop for our photos. My great-grandmother’s engagement ring was my “something old” — my great-grandfather was a young dentist and couldn’t afford a diamond, so he proposed to my great-grandmother with a ring made from a gold tooth!
We made the groomsmen’s pocket squares ourselves, and I also made my own garter. Our “photobooth” was a hashtag printer that picked up social media posts from our guests and automatically printed them out right on the spot. We purchased the flowers in bulk from Costco and we put them together ourselves (my maid of honor made my bridal bouquet). Neither of us like cake, so we opted for donuts instead and our first dance was to Shaggy’s “Angel”.
