231 North Event Center Wedding By Ana Hopkins

 September 16, 2013

Ashley and Dan wanted their wedding to be DIY festival of over the top fun for their guests. They achieved this lofty goal by calling in the help of friends and family AND making sure they chose the right vendors. The couple were married at 231 North Event Center, which is a gorgeous country venue that DOESN’T have a noise ordinance so they could party all night long. They also had their guests stay at the near by Northern Quest Resort which offered a shuttle service back and forth from the venue. They chose the talented Ana Hopkins Photography to capture their big day. Ashley has given some great tips for Spokane brides at the bottom of the post so be sure to check them out!

Tips from Ashley: For dessert we made our own ice cream sundae bar, red velvet cupcakes and vanilla cake pops. We used blonde ale from the Steam Plant for our keg beer and had a friend make homemade belgian pilsner for our signature wedding brew. We also had homemade “puddin shots” from another aunt of mine, and our wine was from Trader Joes 🙂 we sewed our own burlap Bags with Starbucks whole coffee beans for favors and had a friend run a DIY photo booth. A great thing about 231 North is that they let us do our rehearsal dinner at the venue and they catered it too for us. We didn’t have them do our wedding catering but they did do an excellent job at a great price! Also we had guests stay at Northern quest resort and they were nice enough to shuttle guests free to and from the venue! I don’t think a lot of people realize thats an option since Reardan seems so far away! And theres no noise ordinance like there is in other parts of the city, so they let you party all night long! I had so many compliments on our wedding food from Black Tie, the puddin’ shots, the decor, the dancing and the casual personal ceremony more than anything! Oh and the spiked lemonade AND the photography, of course! Vendors Venue: 231 North Event Center Photographer: Ana Hopkins Photography Dress: Storybook Bridal Caterer: Black Tie Catering Decor: All DIY thanks to Pinterest and crafty bridesmaids 🙂 Bride hair: Zoe from Dept Z Salon Bridesmaid hair: LaRive Salon at Northern Quest Resort  Bride and Bridesmaid makeup: Trisha Watson of Trisha Watson Studio  Flowers: JoAnne from Yokes fresh market in Airway heights Dj: Rick from New Beginnings DJ Officiant: My amazing Aunt Theresa who got ordained online
