5 Parts Of Your Wedding You Should Never DIY

 August 1, 2016

When it comes wedding DIY’s, there are plenty of projects you SHOULD do. (Stay tuned to hear some of our favorites!) In some cases, they can save you a ton of money and they can be fun to put together. On the other hand, however, there are a few things you should really avoid. So put away the beginner’s Pinterest tutorial, and leave it to the professionals!

1. Flowers

It is way harder to DIY your wedding flowers than it looks, y’all. Working with a florist will not only ensure that you get the highest quality flowers that will last all day, it will leave you to enjoy your wedding day instead of running around creating bouquets!

2. Day-of-Coordination

We cannot stress this enough – hiring a planner or day-of-coordinator will eliminate SO MUCH STRESS for you (or your family/friend/acquaintance who said they could help.) A wedding coordinator will ensure that everything runs smoothly so you can simply sit back, relax, and be married!

3. Makeup

From the research we did, DIY wedding makeup is a controversial topic, but hear us out. Even if you want to go for simple makeup similar to your every day look, a professional makeup artist can do this while taking it to the next level to ensure that your gorgeous look translates well on camera. Think of them as your all day Snapchat beauty filter (you know the one that makes you look stunning no matter what?)

4. Photography

We all have that friend or relative that dabbles in photography and offers to do your wedding photos for an oh-so-tempting price. Do not be swayed! When it comes to preserving one of the happiest days of your life, it’s important to go with someone who is experienced in shooting weddings. They will have all the equipment, all of the poses, and the gut instinct to give you the best photos of this special day.

5. Music

Even though it might seem like an easy and affordable option to just hook up a laptop or have a friend DJ via your Spotify account, you WILL miss out on the presence of a DJ. They help provide transitions, have a wide variety of music on hand, and they are trained to read the crowd.
