Bows were a hot trend in 2023, and they’re sticking around for 2024! In fact, we’ve started to see them in wedding decor and attire. So if you are as in love with this stylish and fun trend as we are, here are seven ways you can include bows in your wedding!
Bows make a gorgeous addition to a bridal hairstyle! A large tulle bow gives the effect of a veil, while a silk bow in white or your accent color gives a whimsical and romantic flair! You can include your bridesmaids in the fun, too.
One area we’ve seen bows emerge in huge popularity is in wedding gowns! Bows that extend into a train make a big statement, but bows can show up in other places too, like the shoulder! Alternately, choose a shoe with a bow element at the toe or ankle.
Bows also add a nice touch to your bouquet or boutonniere. We love how dreamy a long, flowy ribbon looks on a bridal bouquet! To incorporate the motif subtlely on the groom and groomsmen’s boutonnieres, finish the ribbon off in a small bow instead of wrapping it fully to the top.
Moving on to decor, there are so many creative and beautiful ways we have seen bows incorporated! One trend is to tie a large bow or dainty ribbons to the back of the chairs. This decor style is super versatile! It can be used to designate the bride’s seat, embellish the chairs along the aisle, or decorate the entire reception seating! The bow can serve as a statement itself or can be a simple way to attach flowers or greenery to the chairs.
We have seen bows used to decorate reception table settings in multiple ways. If you are using either a candle or floral centerpiece, simply tie a bow around the candlestick, vase, or flower stems. Upscale your place setting by tying a bow on the napkin or menu card and centering it on the plate. For a more unique use, add a thin ribbon to the champagne or wine glass stem.

One surprising way the bow trend has popped up in weddings is as cake decor! We have seen bows used both as solo statements and together with florals, made with traditional materials or edible fondant! This cake decor option is not only incredibly fun but can be a very budget-friendly cake topper.
Finally, get creative about where else in your venue decor a bow could be used! Is there an awkward or bland element you want to spruce up? Use an extra large tulle bow on its own! Are you displaying signage to welcome guests or direct them to their seats? Use ribbon to hang it!
However you want to use this trend, bows add a whimsical and romantic touch to any wedding. If you’re ready to jump on the trend, start discussions with your vendors now. They may have additional ideas, too! Start your vendor search here.
