WARNING: If the unseasonably warm Inland Northwest weather has you longing for summer this gorgeous Belle Gardenswedding by Megan Robinson Photography will only make it worse! This sweet wedding features a ice cream truck and many more delights that only Summer can provide, so don’t say you haven’t been warned. What’s even more impressive is that the couple arranged the whole wedding from Portland. We’re smitten with the DIY vintage details and the outdoor reception. The gorgeous bride tells us more about how the big day came together:
“Marc and I were married July 12, 2014 near my hometown of Spokane, Washington. We met in the same city six years earlier, while working together at a TV station. It made things tricky because we had since moved to Portland, Oregon – so we planned every detail from afar. Our venue, the Belle Gardens, fit our vision to a T – rustic, garden party elegance. It was so dreamy! We mixed a lot of lace and vintage floral fabric to create a shabby-chic vibe in the ceremony and reception areas. My mom spent hours cutting tons of ribbon and pearls that we ended up draping down the aisle and from our candelabra centerpieces. We even used extra pieces as tails on the bouquets. I wanted those romantic elements without everything looking super girly, for the sake of my Groom. We decided to compromise on our colors, navy for him, blush pink for me. I knew that we had to incorporate my love for all things old. I’m a flea market, antique shop-loving treasure hunter, so getting married was just another excuse to collect items for the big day. We used an old globe as our guestbook and a Portland voting box from the 1940’s for our wine box ceremony – both found in antique shops. I scored a deal on a bunch of embroidery hoops, so we added fabric to them and hung them in the gazebo where we said our vows. I also found a bunch of small detail items on Etsy and borrowed a few family heirlooms. It was important for us to work with local vendors for everything, down to the Washington/Oregon wine selections and the Sandpoint, Idaho-brewed beer. We wanted to bring a bit of the Portland flavor to our big day, so we had a food truck catering service and followed up the BBQ dinner with an ice cream truck. They were both a major hit!”
