Create your vision and discuss it with your MOH
One of the things that my Maid of Honor did that I LOVED was created a shared secret Pinterest board with inspiration. She filled it with things she thought I would like, then had me look at it to make sure it was on point. If there are certain activities that you want to do, or a theme you had in mind, share it! Your girls are throwing this Bachelorette party FOR you, so they’ll want to make it fit your vision.
Manage your expectations
With that being said, I found it important to manage my expectations. I made a list of things that were most important to me and what I wanted to get out of this weekend, and front and center was spending time with my best friends. I didn’t want to get caught up in the weekend being “instagram-perfect” or planned down to the very second. As long as I was able to hang with my girls and celebrate, I was happy!
It’s pretty inevitable that something will not go as planned. For my bachelorette weekend, we planned all day Saturday to be a “lake day,” but when the day finally came, it was cloudy and only 55 degrees! My friends were so great at being flexible and instead we spent the day lounging and walking around downtown, and I think it was just as fun as our lake day would have been!
Make time for everyone there
Some of my friends traveled a long ways to come to my Bachelorette party, and EVERYONE took time out of their schedule and away from their homes and families to be there! So it was really important to me that I spend time with each and every person who came. Throughout the event, try to sit by different people, ride in different cars, or get ready in a different room. That way, your friends will feel included and happy they got to spend time with the guest of honor!
Let loose and have fun!
This may seem like a *duh*, but it can be harder than you think. As a “Type-A” personality, it can sometimes be difficult to not be in control and to kick up your heels. My mantra for the weekend was to be up for anything and enjoy myself!
