Inspiration & Tips

This moody engagement session has some serious coastal vibes that we're loving. Set with a super sweet couple and some adorable rescue dogs and we're head over heels!

We asked the bride-to-be to tell us how they got engaged because we're suckers for a proposal story. She said, "I was starting to think that the proposal was never going to happen. We were together for just shy of seven years when Damian proposed and had already spoken about the future of married life together. Damian wanted to make the proposal memorable while remembering the beginning, and bulk, of our relationship together. While on our way to Bloomsday 2017 back in Spokane, we were going to be too early to check into the hotel. Damian suggested we go back to the place that Mags took him on their first date, an overlook on Cliff Drive on Spokane's South Hill, to see how the city had changed since we had last been back.

As we stood on the cliff overlooking the city, Damian began to point out our personal points of interest with our old apartments in downtown, the condo that we spent many years in together, the Apple Store that we worked in and met so many wonderful people through, the Davenport Hotel where we first met, and all the other small sites around town that had brought us to this point. I turned around to hug Damian only to find him down on one knee and exclaimed "What the hell!?" In complete shock. I followed quickly with an extatic "YES!" after an intriguing look from my future husband. Rather than resting up for the 12K of the next day, we stayed out far too late celebrating with so many wonderful people that we had come to call our good friends since we had originally met."
