What a picture perfect season for photos! I adore winter engagement sessions for so many reasons! They might be chilly but oh my goodness do couples end up with some seriously amazing photos! I could go on and on about how great wintery engagement sessions are but let me keep it short and give my top 5 reasons to have a winter engagement session...
This thoughtful surprise proposal was MONTHS in the making! We love seeing a plan come together, and this groom-to-be went all out for this adorable, picnic-esque surprise proposal.
We're suckers for a snowy photo session (Editor's note: I had a winter wedding, so I'm a little bias!). There's just something so magical about the snow falling all around. It's movie romantic, you know? This engagement session on Lake Coeur d'Alene is so sweet!
This sweet anniversary session took place in the early morning fog on the Seattle ferry and we love that it gives the feel that you're the only 2 people in the world. Unique locations can help elevate an engagement or anniversary session and we think these two picked the perfect place!
We make no secret of the fact that we LOVE when proposals are capturing on camera. From an editor's perspective, there's something that makes me absolutely giddy about the pure, unfiltered emotion captured on both people's faces. The one being surprised, yes, but also the person proposing. The anticipation, nervous energy and pure, unbridled hope that shines through reminds me of that moment when my now husband got down on one knee, and everything tunneled in to that one, anticipatory second.
There's nothing like fall in the Northwest. The temperate weather and beautiful colors make for the perfect background to engagement photos. We love that they chose a lakeside location to capture their love. And their outfits are the perfect inspiration for a casual fall photo shoot!
We LOVE when someone has the forethought to have a professional capture their proposal. Stealth, ingenuity and detailed planning led to a golf course marriage proposal that had the future bride laughing and crying at the same time. The groom found a company that prints custom designs on golf balls and had them inscribed one with the words: "will you marry me?" Then he sawed the golf ball in half and inserted a ring-holder into the center.
We can almost smell the blossoming trees in this romantic engagement session! Set in an orchard on Greenbluff, it doesn't get much more romantic than frolicking with your love surrounded by beautiful flowers.
We love to feature couple's engagements - a series of photos capturing one of the most special times in your life. But we especially love when the couple is not only gorgeous but has a passion for helping people! This bride is a nursing student and her husband is a Yakima Police Officer. And set in the beautiful landscape of central Washington, this engagement is total dreamy perfection!
We love how these two decided to celebrate their first year of marriage! They opted for a celebratory photoshoot with their wedding photographer in the same spot they shot their engagement photos. From a cake from their wedding bakery to wearing pieces of their wedding day outfits (a watch for him +earrings for her), this shoot was filled with thoughtful details that paid homage to their big day.
This moody engagement session has some serious coastal vibes that we're loving. Set with a super sweet couple and some adorable rescue dogs and we're head over heels!
