How long have you been doing makeup, and how did you get started?

I started my education within Nordstrom and Chanel Cosmetics in 2010.  With Chanel, I learned the tiers of education and product knowledge.  Chanel taught me that you get what you pay for, and luxury in life had no price point.  I pride myself on being able to accent my customers best features because of what I learned at my Chanel training classes.  Beyond my Counter Manager days, I decided I needed to expand my knowledge not only for product but services as well.  It was then that I received my Master Estheticians License at Studio Beauty School in Spokane, WA, in 2014.  Becoming a licensed Esthetician expanded my business beyond anything I could imagine.

What other services do you offer?

I'm certified in lash extensions, microblading, waxing, facials, spray tans, tinting, lash lifts, henna brows, and makeup.  I specialize in bridal but enjoy all makeup occasions.

How should brides get their skin ready for wedding day makeup?

I tell brides to remove makeup EVERY night no matter what leading up to their wedding.  Do not play skincare bingo.  Pick products yourself or follow the advice of a dermatologist and stick with them -- no changing products three months before your big day.  Facials are a must once a month starting 5 to 6 months before.  Dermaplaning is also such a good idea.  Makeup lays better on the skin and gives such a polished look.  Leave all blemishes to me!  No picking, leave all pimples alone or pop in to have then zapped or extracted.  All waxing needs to be done at least a week prior.

How do you help brides choose the right makeup for their wedding day?

I love a good inspiration pic from my brides.  I customize the look to fit them, but it helps to get on the same page.  My favorite looks come from just getting to be creative.  I love when a client trusts me with their look to completely customize it to them and be the professional.  I always do a trial run to go over details and chat about what they are trying to achieve with their makeup.

What products do you use?

I'm mostly airbrush and love it.  It gives the best skin finish and longevity.  I have a wide range of products I love and know work best.  Each skin type will require different products.

What should brides look for in their makeup artist?

Look at social media outlets to make sure their art fits you.  Meet for the first consultation and ask any questions you may have then. Lots of my brides have been past bridesmaids, so it's really fun getting to see them again.
