Hiring your wedding vendors can be stressful– how do you know if they’re good until it’s too late? What if they don’t follow your vision? Your sister used so-and-so, so you might as well do the same, right? Wrong. Hiring vendors isn’t a science, it’s a relationship. Different personalities and types of people work well with each other. So today were sharing our top tips for hiring the dream team for your big day!
-Know your style! If you’re looking for a super natural, organic and wild florist, you probably don’t want to hire the florist who’s work is ultra-modern. Take a look at your Pinterest boards and find vendors who’s work looks similar to the style and feel you’re going for.
-Also know your budget. Don’t fall in love with a photographer thats 3x your budget if you can’t make it happen. Just like you shouldn’t try on dresses outside your budget, look for the best of the best vendors in your price range. Don’t just go with the first one you find that has the price tag you’re shooting for!
-Research, research, research! Do they have a good reputation and reviews? Are they on the Apple Brides preferred vendor list? Do they have a professional website and portfolio that is reputable? Spending a little time doing your due diligence will pay off!
-Are they licensed/professional/insured/etc? As appealing as hiring your cousin’s best friend’s girlfriend who just got a really nice camera and is getting into photography may be, it’s probably not the best bet. Look for vendors that are professional, certified or licensed and insured.
-Lastly, meet with them! Take an hour and get to know them a little. Chat, feel them out. If you love their personality and feel like you got along like old pals, it’s a perfect match! If you didn’t feel like you meshed well, that’s okay. Like we said, not everyone works well with everyone else. It’s okay to move on to someone who you feel like is a better fit. Hiring the best vendors you can afford and find will not only make your wedding day smooth and seamless, but will help bring your vision to life.
