I’ve been doing this blog long enough now that I’ve started to look forward to certain things from specific vendors. When Jerome Pollos Photography sends me a wedding I know I can look forward to two things, firstly, beautiful and heartwarming photojournalistic photos, and secondly, a funny and thorough write up about the big day. So I knew when I received Sarah and Dan’s wedding from Jerome that I was in for a treat, and I was not disappointed! Jerome has a way of capturing all the sweet and genuine moments of a wedding.
Here is more from Jerome: “I’ve always used the analogy that you don’t go into a steakhouse, and order tofu. If you know what you want, then that’s what you go for. Sarah and Dan knew what they wanted — a laid, back and fun day documented by a photojournalist with the same mentality (aka me).
When these two told me, ‘Do what you’d like to. We trust you’ I knew I was in for a great day of moments.
The day started off with some great stories about Sarah and Dan and their families and everyone took an easy approach to preparing for the day. Followed by an emotional first look with a distant audience of family and friends. But then things really took a turn for unique when the couple hopped into their uncles classic Bentley and we headed out for the bride and groom portraits.
Once we returned, it was the production of wedding party portraits and family photos, followed by some downtime with a few beverages to ensure everyone was hydrated before the ceremony. Oh, and the ceremony, had nearly 300 people in attendance at The Roosevelt Inn in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. To say it was a little tight on space, would be an understatement. But, it was also an amazing spectacle to see everyone in awe of this couple as they laugh, cried and celebrated these two exchanging their vows.
But the reception was when the moments were taken up a notch. Between Sarah and her families crazy dance moves, Dan and his families awesome toasting abilities, and the great group of friends and family tearing up the dance floor, it was a site to see … and document.
By the end of the night, everyone lined up for a sparkler send off with an elated couple making their way to the end of their night of celebration.”
