There is so much to love about Chris and Jean’s wedding at Settler’s Creek by Crissie McDowell Photography. The casual but elegant style and personal details (coordinated by Alisa Lewis Event Design) are beyond fabulous, but I think what makes this wedding so special is how adorable Chris and Jean are. Here is what Jean had to say about the big day: “Back in 2008, I was visiting a friend in Coeur d’ Alene, who happened to be planning her own wedding to the best friend of Chris. They introduced Chris and myself and sparks flew. We reconnected later at their wedding & were inseparable from that point on. After a year of long distance dating, I decided to take the plunge and move to CdA to see what this small town was really about. Well, I loved it-and still do. Three years later Chris popped the question during a hike on Tubb’s Hill. As we started thinking about what we wanted our wedding day to look like, we had a couple of key principles.1, it should feel like us. We didn’t want anything too over the top formal, or too fancy.2, we wanted the wedding to be a celebration of the amazing people in our lives. The wine we served came from a winery owned by an incredibly dear, and special family to me. The cupcakes were made by an employee of Chris’. We were married by a priest who has served three generations of the Carper family. The beer came from our best friends who introduced us & own their own brewery in Yakima. It is a personal day & we wanted everything from our flowers, decorations and ceremony to feel like us.None of this would have been possible without the amazing team of vendors who brought all this to life. Our venue, Settlers Creek, was a dream. Amy Page of Caravan Floral blew us away with her creativity & florals. She even worked to incorporate some personal touches like our wine boxes, into our centerpieces—amazing. The wonderful team at Alisa Lewis Event Design made sure everything came together on the day and as she is best known for, added her flawless touches to bring the venue to life. And then there was Crissie McDowell. Word’s don’t do justice for everything she did to make our wedding so special. Not only was she our photographer but she created all of our prints, invites, programs-you name it, then she crafted hand-made jewelry for each of the bridesmaids- really, the list goes on.”
