Southern-Inspired Late Summer Wedding

 January 9, 2017

It’s not often that we get to feature a southern-inspired wedding here at Apple Brides! But when the groom is from the South, all sorts of magic happens when you start to mix some Southern traditions with Northwest-sourced food and florals. Weddings are always so much more memorable when they incorporate the personalities and histories of the couple! And can we talk about those florals? We hope cascading bouquets never go out of style because we are IN LOVE with the elevated feel they give to an already special day.

From the photographer… “This couple wanted their day to be stylish, fun and show off all that Northwest has to offer while honoring the groom’s Southern roots. Choosing a late summer date, they were able to showcase so many local products in their menu and florals as well as enjoy Beacon Hill’s gardens as their finest.

Towards the end of the evening, guests even got to enjoy King’s Cake; a Southern cake baked in New Orleans to kick off the beginning of carnival season. Although King’s cakes don’t have any direct tradition at weddings, as they are such a beloved part of New Orleans traditions, it was an exciting item for the groom’s family to share with family and friends.”
