Whether you’re bachelor or bachelorette party planning, there are TONS of options right in our own backyards. Don’t be limited just by the old ‘let’s go to Vegas’ trope! That’s why we created the perfect winter wedding bachelor (or bachelorette!) getaway right at Lake Chelan. You may think winter means blah grey skies and staying indoors, but there’s TONS to do in the Chelan area that will have your weekend jam packed full of wedding party bonding time.
You can stay in Chelan easily as there are tons of vacation rentals or hotels around the lake, or opt for something a little more outside of town if you plan to venture around. We love Warm Springs Inn! It’s a short drive to Chelan and an even shorter drive to Leavenworth for that day trip you’re thinking about.
You can also plan your trip around Chelan’s Winterfest or other winter events so you have even more options while you stay and play.
Day 1:
Take a ski day! With both Echo Valley and Mission Ridge within range of Chelan, hitting the slopes for a day or half day is a great way to get the weekend started. If you’re a beginner, taking a lesson is sure to result in lots of laughs and memories.
Apres-ski, go wine tasting! There’s no better way to warm back up AND experience the best of what Chelan has to offer than by visiting one of the many wineries and tasting rooms around town. One that absolutely isn’t to be missed? Hard Row to Hoe, a winery built on old brothel grounds that will have you giggling away at their cute innuendos and fun wines.
Day 2:
Depending on how far you want to stray, consider a day trip to Leavenworth! It’s only an hour from one to the other, and Leavenworth is FULL of fun shops and cute, wintery kitsch photo ops.
Or, if you’d rather stay around town, explore downtown Chelan! There’s a bowling alley, sledding options (hello childhood!), cute shops, or more outdoor activities if your legs aren’t too sore from skiing yesterday.
Day 3:
Time to pack up! We’re guessing you’re pretty sore and worn out at this point, but consider hitting one more winery or cider room on the way out of town, especially if you haven’t already. Washington’s wineries are one of it’s not-so-hidden gems and not to be missed. Don’t drink? That’s okay, there are still tons of locally made goods like apple butter and caramels to stock up on before you head out. We particularly love Washington Gold Cider as a final stop. Happy travels!
