Megan and Ben were inspired by the gorgeous landscape of Eastern Washington and the Palouse when they came up with their country chic wedding theme. They chose bright colors, burlap, lace and the incredible backdrop of Trezzi Farms on Green Bluff to tie it all together, with Kimbry Studios there to capture it all. Megan wrote all about her planning process and gives some great advice (like did you know Costco has wedding dresses?!?!) at the bottom of the post, so be sure to check it out!

From Megan…. How did you know GreenBluff/Trezzi Farm was your wedding location?I spent many weekends in college north of Spokane, a short drive away from Trezzi Farm. All those weekends were spent with an axe or chainsaw in my hand, since I was a competitive lumberjack during my years at WSU. Those years were very formative in my life, and since the Palouse and eastern Washington was so important to both Ben and I, it seemed like an easy decision to get married in a region we both had such strong connections too. Stephanie and Davide were very welcoming, and wanted to make sure that the space they created, with big barns and red tin roofs felt like a joyful place to spend our special day. Davide took great care in preparing delicious, home cooked, authentic Italian food that wafted in and out of the barn doors, and made made wine that was a true testament to his Italian roots. And if those factors weren’t enough, the giant metal chickens placed around the property sealed the deal. What was your favorite element of the planning process and of the wedding day? My favorite part of the planning process was picking out wedding colors and the bridesmaids dresses. I went to the hardware stores and picked up gobbs and gobbs of paint chips, scattering them all around the floor of our apartment, picking and choosing and throwing out all sorts of combinations until I reached our final decision – poppy, dark teal, and tan. Trezzi Farms bright red barns needed wedding details to match – so bright, bold colors with a dusty tan was where it was at.The next challenge was finding bridesmaids dresses to match. We lucked out at Nordstrom’s where we found the perfect shade of teal dresses that looked great on all the girls. I wanted to avoid the typical one-time-wear bridesmaid dress, and opted for something that would work great for a night on the town as well. This fit the bill, and I even bought the tan version myself as my rehearsal dinner dress. Needless to say, all four of us girls have worn our dresses on multiple occasions, so my mission was accomplished. Shopping for my wedding dress was EASY. I found it right after we got engaged through, of all places, COSTCO! Yeah, I know. The do limited time tour in major cities, with a small line of dresses from Kristie Kelly. I saw it online, tried it on when the dress tour came to Seattle – and when it came time for my mom and Beka to see me in it – they cried. It was clearly the winner, hands down.Of the wedding day – My favorite element was the wild field flowers. Our florist worked wonders that incorporated a wide range field flowers in various oranges, reds and yellows and had stalks of wheat thrown as a tribute to our love of the Palouse. She understood every detail and took it to a whole new level. They were perfection. How did you come to your wedding theme? Our wedding theme was easy to come by. We wanted it to be simple and country-chic because of our love for Eastern Washington and the wheatfields of the Palouse. The color scheme included lots of texture and pops of color. Because the wedding was outdoors with a country-type setting, we used burlap and lace for the table runners, faux-tiqued mason jars for the vases and lots of candles to provide nice lighting when the sun started setting. The colors of the flowers looked great with the bright orange sunsets eastern Washington typically has. It fit us both and the area we loved.Vendors Photographer: Kimbry Studios Venue & Caterer: Trezzi Farms Cake: Love @ First Bite Desserts Dress Designer: Kirstie Kelly Flowers: Half Moon Blooms Groom’s Attire: JCPenney Jewelry: Forever 21 Stationery: BRIDES Invitation Kit – Blue Birds from Micheals Bridesmaid Dresses: Suzy Chin from Nordstrom Vases: The Bride Hair & Makeup: Bridesmaid Corinne
